EARTHQUAKE! A 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook Honduras last week. Lots of folks we know down there wrote to say it woke them up and did lots of damage. 7 people died (none we know) and over $100 million in damage was done. One large bridge we use frequently fell into the river. Roads were bad before with potholes, landslides, etc. Now there are big cracks too! |

Robbed and shot... more personally and since we started travelling, a friend that lives near us, Roger Corbran, was shot by robbers. Sue, his wife, wrote to say 6 armed young men broke down their door at 1:30 am and shot Roger in the chest, stole what they wanted and left. Sue drove him into town where they treated him at the hospital. Thanks to God, the bullet went through his right lung without breaking bones or damaging other organs, and he will recover. Crime has been increasing in the area where we live, as gang activity is increasing.
